Our Cinnamon Spice tea is a combination of Single Region Tea grown in the Dimbula valley, and Ceylon Cinnamon. The brew offers brightness, medium body, and a sweet piquancy.

Health benefits

Cinnamon isn’t only unique and delicious, but it can also offer some health benefits. For example, cinnamon contains an essential oil called cinnamaldehyde. This oil has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Besides the cinnamaldehyde, cinnamon also has prebiotic properties. This means it stimulates the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut and helps relieve digestive issues.

How to make a perfect brew

  1. Boil the water to a temperature of between 95-100°C
  2. Pour 220ml of water per 6 grams tea
  3. Allow it to brew for 3-5 minutes and enjoy your tea!

t-Column – your sustainable tea bottle to go

We all know the feeling of brewing a nice cup of tea, and not being able to drink it straight away or even not being able to hold it until it cools down. Our specially made tea bottle has double glazing to make it possible to seal your fresh tea while it’s still brewing and to transport it, which makes it a perfect companion for your morning commute, or as a companion to your daily home-office routine. It keeps the tea inside your bottle hot, while the bottle itself remains warm, but not hot to the touch. That’s only one of the many benefits that comes with this bottle. In the bottle a removable tea strainer is integrated which makes it possible to brew tea for yourself while remaining sustainable in your consumption. Dilmah produces loose tea, so as not to waste resources with the unnecessary use of tea bags, which is why we saw the need to design a bottle that you can clean out and reuse multiple times a day all while using sustainable, reusable materials to do so. Its wooden Cap and slick glass design means it’s a bottle that fits into most people’s everyday life both optically and practically. The bottle has printed on it the slogan “teatime rocks!”.

Storage advice

Keep the tea stored in the steel box, kept in a cool dark place. Its important when storing it to keep it away from warmth. If storing in the refrigerator/ freezer, pack in small completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature to prevent any condensation. Each packet should be used within a week after opening.

Our Cinnamon Spice tea is packaged in a steel box. Steel can be endlessly recycled and is easily taken out of waste streams with magnets, it is a really sustainable choice in terms of reusability of materials. The labels are made out of paper and glued to the steel box with hotmelt glue. Hotmelt glue can cause problems in paper recycling in high quantities, due to it staying sticky in the pulp-filled water. Dilmah uses hotmelt due to how quick it dries, which lets us increase production speed.

Tea leaves are grown in Dunkeld estate, a high elevated estate situated on the banks of the Castlereagh reservoir in Sri Lanka.

The transportation from Sri Lanka till the harbor in Europe is carbon neutral.
