A soft, sweet fragrance with a gentle fruity aroma yields an elegant and bright tea with a touch of peach. The Dimbula Valley's high grown Ceylon Pekoe produces a medium bodied tea that perfectly complements the soft peach flavour.

Health benefits of Peach black tea

Black tea contains antioxidants, which help in the fight against free radicals and protect the body from oxidative stress. Furthermore, it may lower the risk of heart disease by improving blood flow and decreasing LDL cholesterol levels. Drinking black tea on a regular basis may also improve brain function, reduce inflammation, and promote healthy blood sugar levels, all of which may aid in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.

How to make a perfect brew

  1. Bring the water to a boil
  2. Use 220ml of water per 2.5 grams tea
  3. Steep for 3-5 minutes, and enjoy your tea

Tea for Climate Change Research

This tea comes from the Somerset Estate, situated in the Dimbula Valley on the Western slopes of the Central Hills of Sri Lanka. This area is well known as the traditional tea growing area of the country where tea was first grown around the 1870s following the coffee blight. As an island nation, Sri Lanka is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, that have already begun wreaking havoc on ecosystems. However, the country lacks scientific knowledge on climate change adaptation and mitigation options. Dilmah Conservation has founded Sri Lanka's first Climate Change Research Centre at Dilmah Tea's Queensbury Estate in Nawalapitiya to address this. The research conducted at the station will not only focus on the tea industry, but will also provide a forum for leading climate scientists to share knowledge and contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation in Sri Lanka.

Peach Iced Tea

If you feel like having a refreshing iced tea, try cold brewing our Peach Iced Tea. You simply have to take a pitcher and put in it the right amount of tea for its capacity. Then pour room temperature or cold water in it. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate it; you can steep our black Peach Tea overnight. For a little twist, add a splash of lemon juice and honey or agave syrup to sweeten it up. Enjoy this beverage on a hot day, and we are sure it will become your new summer must-have.

Storage advice

Keep the tea stored in the steel box, kept in a cool dark place. It is important when storing it to keep it away from warmth. If storing in the refrigerator or freezer, pack in small completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature to prevent any condensation. Each defrosted packet should be used within a week after opening.
