Tea for Climate Change Research

Our Brilliant Breakfast tea is grown in Dimbula Valley on the Western slopes of the Central Hills of Sri Lanka, a region renowned for its tea production, dating back to the 1870s when tea was first grown. But Sri Lanka, as an island nation, is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, which have already begun to disrupt ecosystems. In the country, there is a lack of scientific understanding regarding climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. To address this issue, Dilmah Conservation has established Sri Lanka's inaugural Climate Change Research Centre. Located at the Queensbury Estate in Nawalapitiya, it will not only focus on the tea industry as a whole, but serve as a platform for leading climate scientists to exchange knowledge, and collaborate on climate change adaptation and mitigation in Sri Lanka.

Brilliant Morning Breakfast

Brilliant Breakfast tea is our popular version of the English Breakfast, which goes back to its original form, when the Scottish planters drank it. It is great, taken straight, and will help energise your days. Otherwise, try adding to it some fresh mint leaves, a sliver of fresh ginger, or a touch of lemon for a twist, and some honey or agave syrup to sweeten it. Pair it with your favourite morning meal, and your - brilliant - breakfast is served.

Storage advice

Keep the tea stored in its steel box, in a cool dark place. It is important, when storing, to keep it away from sources of heat. If storing in the refrigerator or freezer, pack in small, completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature in order to prevent any condensation. Each defrosted packet should be used within a week after opening.
