What is Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea that is typically darker and stronger in taste than green tea, but lighter in colour and more delicate in flavour than most black teas. It follows a similar manufacturing process as black tea, but with a much shorter oxidation period. This noble tea has been enjoyed in the East since the end of the Ming Dynasty for its expression of the art of tea making and its gentle sophistication. It traditionally originates from the Fujian Province of China, but First Ceylon Oolong is the first Oolong tea to be produced in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). This Single Estate Tea from the Galle District is a unique drinking experience, midway between a green and a black tea.

Storage advice

Keep the tea stored in its steel box, in a cool dark place. It is important, when storing, to keep it away from sources of heat. If storing in the refrigerator or freezer, pack in small, completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature in order to prevent any condensation. Each defrosted packet should be used within a week after opening.
