Health benefits of Earl Grey

Earl Grey tea is not only a delicious and aromatic beverage, but it also offers several health benefits. This classic tea blend is made by combining black tea with the essence of bergamot, a citrus fruit that is known for its many health-promoting properties, such as heart health protection by lowering cholesterol levels and reducing blood pressure and anxiety relief. On top of this, Earl Grey tea, like all tea, is a great source of antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals. Earl Grey tea also contains caffeine, which can provide a natural energy boost, improve focus, and help you stay alert. Finally, this tea has a soothing effect on the mind and body, with antiinflammatory properties, making it an excellent choice for relaxation and stress relief.

How to make a perfect brew

  3. Steep for 3-5 minutes, and enjoy your tea

Tea for Decolonisation

This legendary tea is named after Charles, 2nd Earl of Grey and former Prime Minister of England. Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, is a former British colony, but gained its official independence in 1972. Ceylon is also the birthplace of Dilmah. Here, the finest tea plantations can be found. However, the high quality of our teas is not the only thing that matters to us. Dilmah has been decolonising the tea industry since 1985. At Dilmah, we care about empowering the local community, giving back to those who make things happen everyday.

Storage advice

Keep the tea stored in the steel box, kept in a cool dark place. It is important when storing it to keep it away from warmth. If storing in the refrigerator/ freezer, pack in small completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature to prevent any condensation. Each defrosted packet should be used within a week after opening.
